Published on: Friday 9 May 2025

The NHS North Kensington Recovery Programme has released its latest report, detailing the delivery, reach, and outcomes of services commissioned from April to September 2024. This initiative is part of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy (HWS), which aims to address immediate, medium-term, and longer-term health needs to support the recovery process. The report highlights several key sections:

Executive summary: This section provides an overview of the delivery, reach, and outcomes of services commissioned as part of the NHS North Kensington Recovery Programme.

Primary care: The report notes a decrease in activity for Enhanced Health Checks (EHC) and Community Enhanced Health Checks (CEHC) compared to the previous six months, but an increase in Q2 compared to Q1. Further analysis is needed to look at health activity linked to EHCs.

Dedicated service: This section details the support provided to survivors and bereaved individuals, including collaborations and community events. Positive feedback from Patient Engagement Questionnaires (PEQs) is highlighted, but there is a need to increase response rates.

Specialist services: The report covers Adult Respiratory Long Term Monitoring and Paediatric Long Term Monitoring, noting positive outcomes and the need for further outcome measures.

Self-care: Diverse services offered by Kensington and Chelsea Social Council (KCSC) and ACAVA (Men’s Shed) are described, with positive health and wellbeing outcomes reported.

Emotional wellbeing: The Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service (GHWS) offers workshops, employment support, and collaborations, all of which are highlighted in this section.

Children and young people: The report notes a decrease in survivor and bereaved children accessing services, with Enhanced Health Checks and Paediatric Long Term Monitoring being key areas of focus.

The report emphasises the need for further work to ensure all eligible people are offered the services they are entitled to access and to improve reporting on the outcome and impact of services on health outcomes.

Five simple infographics have also been produced to help explain the outcomes in each area:
