The North Kensington Recovery Programme continues to provide dedicated health and wellbeing support for people affected by the Grenfell tragedy, including mental health care, physical health support, and bereavement and family services. We remain fully committed to supporting survivors, the bereaved, and everyone affected. As needs change, we are shaping future support so it is sustainable, community-led, and based on what people tell us they need.
Our approach: Community‑Led Recovery
We are strengthening our Community-Led Recovery approach, using what we have heard from local residents to guide how services are designed and decisions are made. Future services will be community-led, personalised, Grenfell-specific, and based in neighbourhoods. Updates will continue via email, the insight bulletin, and www.grenfell.nhs.uk
What we are engaging on now (non‑clinical services)
We are now starting engagement on non-clinical (support) services, often delivered by voluntary, community and faith sector (VCFS) organisations. These services promote wellbeing, strengthen local connection, and help people build confidence and tools to manage their own health and that of their families. Kensington and Chelsea Social Council (KCSC) is supporting this work by helping run engagement sessions and bringing together community feedback. KCSC is not a decision-maker; their role is to make sure community voices are heard.
Who we will speak to
- Survivors and bereaved families
- Grenfell‑affected residents, including children and young people
- Survivor‑ and bereaved‑led organisations
- Targeted VCFS organisations
- Targeted health and social care workforce
What we want to learn
- Checking what we have heard on needs: We will review what we have heard before about non‑clinical health and wellbeing needs to make sure these insights are still accurate and relevant.
- Understanding helpful support and access: We will explore which types of non‑clinical support and activities are most helpful, and how people can most easily use them.
- Exploring future funding model for non‑clinical services: We will work with survivor‑ and bereaved‑led organisations to shape a fair, transparent way to hold, distribute, and monitor future funding so it matches community needs.
There will also be separate opportunities to engage on clinical services (physical and mental health, and emotional wellbeing). We will share details in future updates.
