North Kensington Recovery Programme: Financial expenditures published

NHS North West London has released detailed financial figures for the past six years, highlighting the significant investments made to support Grenfell survivors, the bereaved, and local residents. 

Since January 2019, over 9,000 Enhanced Health Checks (EHC) have been completed across practices and the community. 73% of survivors have attended at least one EHC, with over 230 survivors attending a second. Additionally, 62% of children and young people (CYP) survivors and 70% of bereaved individuals have attended at least one EHC, with over 200 attending a second. Over 5,000 patients from the community have attended at least one health check. 

The Adult Respiratory Long-Term Monitoring Service has seen 135 attendees, while the Paediatric Long-Term Monitoring Service has had 124 attendees. These services ensure that survivors receive the necessary care and monitoring for their respiratory health. 

The Healthier Futures programme has provided various services, including complementary therapies, health cooking classes, exercise programs, and mental health first aid. Over 15,000 attendances have been recorded, showcasing the community's engagement and commitment to self-care. 

The Grenfell Health & Wellbeing Service (GHWS) has received over 7,000 referrals and has 520 open cases at March 2025, including 177 survivors and bereaved individuals, and 95 CYP. The service offers a range of support activities, including outreach, group therapy, and community collaboration. 

Activities for children and young people have been integrated across various health and wellbeing initiatives. These activities aim to support the younger members of the community, ensuring they receive the care and attention they need. 

Financial expenditures breakdown 

  • Dedicated service expenditure: The dedicated service for survivors and bereaved individuals has a total expenditure of £5,505,000 over the five-year period ending in 2025, with significant spending in the years 19/20 (£887,000) and 20/21 (£869,000). 
  • Health checks and primary care: The total expenditure for primary and community care amounted to £4,310,000. 
  • Specialist services utilisation: Total expenditure for specialist services reached £1,240,000. 
  • Self-Care Initiatives: The Healthier Futures program spent £2,051,000. 
  • Emotional health services: The Grenfell Health & Wellbeing Service has a total expenditure of £33,499,000. 
  • Children and young people services: Activities for children and young people accounted for £383,000. 
  • Programme expenditure: North Kensington Recovery Programme costs at ££4,000,000.
