NHS North West London publishes latest Insight Bulletin ahead of Grenfell Tower fire 8th anniversary
NHS North West London has today published a new edition of its Insight Bulletin, providing an update on health and wellbeing services for the Grenfell-affected community as the 8th anniversary of the tragedy approaches.
The bulletin outlines how the NHS continues to support the survivors, the bereaved and the wider North Kensington community, and includes updates on recent engagement activity, investment, specialist health services, and preparations for the deconstruction of Grenfell Tower. Highlights from the bulletin include:
- Personal Health Assessments are being offered to 116 survivors who escaped the Tower after 1:28 am on the day of the fire, and may have been exposed to increased levels of smoke were present at Grenfell early in the fire. To date, 59 appointments have been booked and 44 completed. We continue to contact those eligible patients who have not yet had an assessment.
- More than £53 million has been spent since 2019 to March 2025, including £33.5 million for the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service and £7.3 million on support for the survivors and the bereaved.
- Between December 2024 and February 2025, feedback from community engagements through surveys, roundtable sessions and focus groups reaffirmed the importance of continued healthcare support.
- The NHS is working closely with Government and local partners to ensure the community is supported as the deconstruction of Grenfell Tower begins after the anniversary.
- NHS staff across North West London will mark the anniversary with a 72-second silence and a dedicated session reflecting on progress and priorities for continued care.
The bulletin also signposts local residents to available services, including GP support and the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service, and includes contact details for further help.
