Expressions of interest sought - New forum to support North Kensington community groups

Published on: Friday 3 November 2017

Following the fire at Grenfell, a number of new community groups have formed with the benevolent motive of supporting local residents. Some of the groups – many of whom are self-governing – operate quietly in the background, while others are coming forward with new proposals and seeking support.

West London CCG wants to make sure these groups have their proposals fairly considered by the organisations who can take them forward.

To achieve this we want to form a new multi-agency forum made up of senior leaders from North Kensington organisations who can assess the appropriateness of new proposals presented. The forum will be key in the co-design of the model of care being developed to support those affected by the fire. It will act as a sounding board for future service developments whilst being a place to receive and discuss feedback.

We want to make sure proposals are sustainable and complement current provision. They could be measured against:

  • Quality Assurance
  • Effective service delivery
  • Appropriate capacity building
  • Justice, truth and reconciliation
  • Value for money
  • Information sharing.

It is envisaged that the forum will help prevent duplication, and through the knowledge, experience and skills in working with local communities across North Kensington will be able to offer support to new groups and organisations who may lack resource or capacity.

We are seeking expressions of interest from organisations who would like to provide representation for this forum. Forum members will need to be able to provide evidence of the following:

  • That they are constituted as a voluntary/community group, charity or social enterprise and has a constitution or set of rules
  • That they have understanding of and clear policies in relation to safeguarding and equality
  • That they can demonstrate their experience of working with local communities across North Kensington and provide examples of this
  • That they have a minimum of three years' experience in working with local communities in North Kensington
  • That they have details of the skills and experience or the organisation e.g. mental health, and can set out how they work with local communities
