NHS West and North London shares latest insights from community engagement in North Kensington

Published on: Wednesday 8 April 2026

NHS West and North London has published its latest update on what residents, partners, and the Grenfell‑affected community have been telling us between October and December 2025, and how we are responding.

The new report brings together feedback from local community events, conversations with survivors and bereaved families, engagement with clinicians and voluntary organisations, and questions raised in primary care. It highlights the deep emotional impact of the ongoing changes around Grenfell Tower and the continued importance of clear, accessible information and trusted spaces for support.

What we heard

Residents raised a range of themes, including:

  • ongoing trauma and mental health needs, with a strong preference for non‑clinical, community‑based support
  • concerns and questions about the tower deconstruction, including the emotional impact and a desire for greater transparency
  • fatigue with repeated consultations, and calls for clearer evidence that community voices are shaping decisions
  • mixed uptake of Enhanced Health Checks, with some wanting ongoing tailored support and others choosing to move on

The report also includes powerful reflections shared by survivors and bereaved families about loss, identity and the meaning of the Tower. These insights continue to influence how services are designed and delivered.

What we are doing

In response to what we heard, the NHS is:

  • supporting community events that offer wellbeing advice and practical help
  • working with CNWL and partners to strengthen non‑clinical mental health support and map gaps in local provision
  • escalating feedback on memorialisation and deconstruction decisions to Government departments to ensure transparency
  • providing clearer updates for primary care to share with patients
  • developing a more regular and accessible approach to sharing population health monitoring data, including CYP‑focused insights.

A full summary of outstanding actions is published in the report, including planned follow‑up sessions with survivors and bereaved families, continued work with Government partners on consistent messaging, and further development of trauma‑informed community support options.

Why this matters

Residents have told us that trust, transparency and long‑term support remain vital as North Kensington continues to recover. This latest report reinforces the need for:

  • clear, consistent communication
  • genuine community‑led recovery
  • services shaped by lived experience
  • emotional and cultural support alongside clinical care.

NHS West and North London remains committed to listening, learning and working in partnership with local people as the area continues to change.
